Jason Smith: Senior All-Stars to shine in Liberty Bowl
For some, game will be swan song

* By Jason Smith

For many seniors, December’s eighth annual AutoZone Liberty Bowl High School All-Star Game at Memphis University School will mark the final time they’ll put on a football uniform.  "It gives many seniors a final chance to go out as a winner in their last high school game," said Mitchell football coach Nathan Cole, head coach of the Red Team in the Dec. 12 all-star event.  The game will feature 80 of the area’s top high-school seniors from 41 public and private schools.

The Blue Team will be led by Germantown High coach Charlie White.  "Because of the exposure the All-Star Game has created over the past seven years," White said, "there has been an increase in the appreciation for the overall level of talent in the Memphis area."
