Tigers erase 12-3 halftime deficit

Running back Marcus Holliday and Fairley had top-ranked Whitehaven on the run in the first half but Delvin Lane and the Tigers grabbed a 29-12 win.

Whitehaven football coach Rodney Saulsberry had said repeatedly all week that his players didn’t need any extra motivation for Friday’s game with Fairley, considering it was a neighborhood rivalry game.

However, when the Tigers retreated to the locker room apparently stunned by what had transpired in the opening half Friday night, Saulsberry had no choice but to remind his players of all the hoopla surrounding the game.
